Informed online care
Online care & confidentiality
What to expect, when online therapy may be suitable, and when to seek more immediate help. Last reviewed 24 August 2026.
Urgent and crisis support
Do not wait for an InnerHope appointment when you or another person may be in immediate danger or needs urgent medical attention. Call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department. In Malaysia, Talian HEAL is available at 15555, Befrienders Kuala Lumpur at 03-7627 2929, and Talian Kasih at 15999.
Who online care may support
InnerHope supports concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationships, grief, self-esteem, parenting concerns and life transitions. Professionals on the team work with adults and, depending on the practitioner and situation, children or adolescents. Contact the admin team to confirm an appropriate match.
When another service may be better
This online offering does not provide emergency response, legal or court-related services, or psychological assessments. Some group, couple or family situations may not be suitable online. The care team may recommend face-to-face, hospital or specialist services when those are safer or more appropriate.
Technology and setting
You need a computer, tablet or smartphone with a stable internet connection and camera or microphone. Choose a quiet, private setting. InnerHope’s published information states that sessions use Google Meet. Ask the admin team for setup help if needed.
Confidentiality
Professionals treat session content and client records as confidential. Confidentiality may need to be limited when a client poses a danger to themselves, makes a serious threat toward another person, authorises release in writing, a court orders disclosure, abuse or neglect is involved, or a parent or guardian has legal rights concerning a client under 18.
Languages
Languages across the current care team include English, Malay, Mandarin, Hokkien and Tamil. Availability varies by professional, so confirm your preferred language with the admin team before booking.
