Reena Gunabalan

Clinical Psychologist

Reena is a registered clinical psychologist dedicated to support individuals mental wellbeing while working to reduce mental health stigma. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cyberjaya. Reena completed her practicum at Hospital Universiti Malaysia Sabah (HUMS) and later worked as a locum clinical psychologist in Kota Kinabalu, gaining valuable experience with clients in Sabah.


Reena’s clinical work focuses on supporting adults experiencing mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, burnout and more. She also has experience working with children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral concerns. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs. Reena is committed to provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and empowered to create meaningful change at their own pace.


In addition to her clinical work, Reena has volunteered with crisis hotlines, providing emotional and psychological support to individuals in crisis. Furthermore, in her corporate experience, she organised talks and workshops to raise awareness about mental health and help employees better navigate stress, burnout and overall wellbeing.
